We started life as a one man enterprise operating from Director Mark Allen’s spare room. Mark was joined a year later by Chris Clay, and AAL moved to offices in Branston, becoming a limited company in 2009. In 2015, we marked our tenth anniversary with the move of our Head Office to substantially larger, new premises in Lincoln.
We provide a full range of archaeological services on a national basis and we aim to provide a cost effective, risk-free and time efficient service. Whether you are looking for a geophysical survey in advance of a planning application, the recording of a building prior to alteration or demolition, full-scale excavation as part of an archaeological mitigation condition or help and guidance for a community project, we can help.
Our experienced team can provide archaeological advice at an early stage in the design programme. This can include negotiation with the planning authority on your behalf, desk-based research into a site’s archaeological potential, and fieldwork specifically targeted to ensure the swift resolution of any potential planning issues.
We understand the importance of ensuring projects meet the deadlines set by the planning authority or our clients and can provide archaeological mitigation strategies tailored to the specific needs of each development, from the single house extension to large-scale infrastructure projects.
