Mick McDaid

Mick joined Allen Archaeology in early 2020. He started his career in the mid 1980’s and has considerable experience in all areas and periods of field archaeology, particularly large scale urban and rural archaeological projects, both in the running of fieldwork and report writing.

Mick began his career as an excavator, progressing through the ranks to Project Manager. After 23 years in the profession, he took a career break to become a nurse on an emergency assessment unit, before returning to archaeology at AAL as a Senior Project Officer, concentrating on post-excavation report writing.

He has spent most of his career working within commercial archaeology, specifically companies based in Lincolnshire. His work has been referenced in National Guidance.
