This project involved making recommendations for enhancing the Greater London Historic Environment Record (GLHER), and preparing a draft research agenda for the archaeological study of historic (1066-1900) burials in London. Our Heritage Research team interrogated the GLHER and the existing published and on-line data sources to complete the audit and, working with our osteologist, collated the information for all archaeological interventions that had taken place since 1980 and which had resulted in a sample of 100 or more individuals.
The project team then organised a seminar in London where specialists from across the discipline discussed the results. Allen Archaeology drew the discussion together to produce a draft research agenda. The results of the study are available on the Historic England website.
